Fiscal Specialist 1

This position works independently and under general supervision to provide fiscal, administrative, and back up for general office support duties for the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health, including independently planning, organizing and prioritizing work, providing services to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the Allen School for Global Animal Health. Duties include Payroll processing, domestic & international travel planning, budget reconciliation, fiscal tracking and posting. Prepare personnel documents. Purchasing, purchasing card reconciliation, CTA card reconciliation, processing shipping and receiving, answering main phone line, greeting guests, and other fiscal & administrative support.

Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.


Additional Requirements

Understanding of and physical eligibility required for working in a BSL-2 environment. See the following link for more information:

Experience and proficiency working with computers and computer software, including spreadsheets.

Demonstrated organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external individuals and groups.

Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions.


Preferred Qualifications

Professional work experience in an higher education environment.

Professional work experience in day to day financial administration including, but not limited to, purchasing, budgeting and revenue.

Experience working with databases.

Knowledge of Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Office suite and Business Objects.

Experience working at WSU, including familiarity with Business Policies and Procedures and with WSU systems,including AIS applications such as PAPR, BALANCES, PROPERTY.
