Job Description

Scholarship Coordinator
Student Financial Services seeks a Financial Aid Coordinator. This position reviews information submitted by applicants to determine eligibility for financial assistance in the form of scholarships, state grants, and ROTC scholarships, etc. This includes the type and amount of aid to be awarded in accordance with established federal and university standards and guidelines.

An associate's degree is required, though relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Demonstrated experience working independently with minimum supervision which requires attention to detail and experience in working effectively with people from varied backgrounds is required. The successful applicant has effective verbal and written communication and office skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

A bachelor's degree and/or experience working higher education field in student services and/or financial aid is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with specialized knowledge of federal, state, and institutional student financial aid and awards programs, regulations and guidelines. The ability to interpret and apply policy in daily work, and knowledge of state education codes, as they apply to financial aid; financial aid basic accounting and budgeting of endowed scholarships; exceptional oral and communication skills, are all preferred skills. Proficiency in MS Application skills and familiarity with the Integrated Student Information System and imaging skills are preferred.
