Job Description

Senior Project Manager

Oversees large, complex projects and organizational improvement efforts with technology focus, for Enrollment Management portfolio.

Essential Functions

Manages, plans, directs and evaluates application and technical implementations using project management methodologies, in communication and consultation with clients, project team members and other stakeholders. Assembles project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, develops project schedules and is responsible for determining and acquiring resources needed. With Project Director and Enrollment Management leadership, determines scope and requirements of project(s) and serves as liaison between team members and leadership. Develops artifacts and project plans, and tracks and reports on project status and costs. Analyzes business processes and provides consultation and recommendations on technical solutions in areas such as system integrations and architecture. Works with Project Director to ensure plans and implementation goals are met. Participates in development of processes and best practices to ensure better service and contribute to organization-wide improvement.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Experience managing large-scale technical projects and teams. Prior experience as a supervisor or manager. Demonstrated proficiency in software development, requirements-gathering, and business analysis. Demonstrated excellence in project planning and tracking. Ability to manage multiple high-priority, high-stakes projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and ability to build consensus.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bagelor's degree. More than five years of experience managing large-scale technical projects in a higher education environment. Experience managing change and implementation of new technologies at higher education institution. Demonstrated excellence in project management methodologies and practice.

Working conditions

May work around standard office conditions

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Work performed on multiple projects concurrently under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations. Extended hours may be required.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement
System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the
position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length.
