Patient Access Clerk

Job Description:

Obtains correct demographic and financial information for outpatients, inpatients, a.m. admits, series outpatients and ambulatory surgery patients. Pre-Registers patients and verifies insurance. Uses web based program to collect credit card payments and to update incorrect registration information. Transports or escorts patients needing assistance to their destination. Contacts MD offices for orders, pre-certs or other information needed to register patients. Must have excellent customer service skills. 1-3 months work experience preferred.

Job Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required

  • Excellent customer service skills required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively through conversation.

  • Abiilty to type from face to face conversation.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to enter data into computer system with minimal typing errors.

  • Close attention to detail.
