Assists providers and staff with the daily coordination of patient care to facilitate efficient patient flow and provider access. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and providers to ensure delivery of a patient centered model of care. Serves as primary support person for the providers. Ability to support coverage of Clinical Manager, if needed.
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current state of Florida RN license.
Experience: Minimum 1 year nursing experience in a physician?s office or clinic experience in an ambulatory health care facility preferred. BLS / AED certification is required and must be maintained. ACLS or PALS certification preferred.
Business Skills: Excellent patient assessment skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; good analytical, logical, and reasoning skills; excellent organizational skills. Adept at electronic medical record and proficient in computer skills, including Windows and MS Office.

Work Schedule Summary
? Provides direct hands-on patient care to include, but is not limited to, assisting provider with patient care, medication administration, which includes oral, injectable and intravenous medications via various venous access devices, as ordered; carrying out specialized medical procedures, patient education, and discharge planning
? Works with Provider leadership in assigned clinical area(s) to establish written protocols to provide efficiencies of patient messaging and tasks and to define patient care procedures associated to competencies
? Accountable for performing and training specific clinical procedures and monitoring staff competencies for completeness in assigned specialty area(s)
? Oversees exam room utilization and ensures staff work areas are maintained & organized at all times
? Ordering, supply and control of patient care and business supplies for the location(s)
? Assures that exam rooms are properly equipped in terms of instruments, medications and disposable supplies
? Responsible for reporting and monitoring broken equipment in the clinics
? Maintains pharmaceutical sample log and assures all samples are accounted for and kept current, complying with policies and procedures
? Prepares / submits appropriate Provider clinic change forms as directed by Provider and/or supervisor
? Assures patient messages are reviewed as they arrive, delegated as indicated and followed-up on timely but no later than daily, with all actions documented in the
electronic health record
? Acts as a patient advocate and participates in complaint process to ensure immediate and adequate service recovery
? Notifies patients and families of extended wait times on an on-going basis and evaluates opportunities to minimize wait times while maximizing patient flow throughout the clinical area(s)
? Assists in recognizing and reducing safety risks within the patient care areas
? Assists with collecting data for benchmarking & compliance reporting
? Serves as a resource for HIPAA & Patient Safety policies & standards of care.
? Manages staffing requirements to optimize resources and control costs.
? Assists Clinical Manager/Supervisor with assigning/coordinating new employee orientation and cross-training of appropriate staff in Unit.
? Follows Departmental Clinical Procedures and Policies and adheres to Florida State Board of Nursing regulations and scope of practice.
? Acts as liaison to providers on a daily basis assuring communication of issues and initiatives to the Clinical Operations Administrative team
? Provides input to Clinical Manager/Supervisor regarding clinical support staff performance and level of competence for job duties.
? Assesses quality of care and assists in identifying opportunities to improve patient services/quality. Collaborates with Clinic Manager/Supervisor in implementing process/ system changes.
? Act as a liaison between providers, patients, pharmacies, hospitals, other health professionals and nonclinical staff to provide a team approach to patient care. (team
meetings, daily huddles to review daily schedules and enhance pt care).
? Attends meetings and participates on clinical committees and task forces as assigned or deemed necessary.
