The Department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy at the University of South Carolina Aiken invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Southern US History, with an ability to teach and pursue scholarship in the history of South Carolina, beginning August 16, 2019.

The successful candidate will teach US History survey courses, upper-level courses in Southern and South Carolina history, upper-level courses in the candidate?s areas of expertise, and rotating core history courses, with a 4/4 load (typically 2 preps per semester). Other responsibilities include research and productive scholarship; student advisement; and department, university, professional, and community service. After tenure and promotion, may apply for the June Rainsford Henderson Chair in History.
