University of Maryland Baltimore is currently seeking a Budget Analyst to join the Department of Neurology Administration. The selected candidate is responsible for reconciling, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting financial data for departmental budgets, to include fiscal management of UMB, FPI/Practice funds, Foundation funds, as well as other departmental fiscal management as needed, while maintaining this information in a confidential and efficient system and coordinating all necessary files into a united budgetary and financial forecast. This position will report directly to the Associate Administrator of Neurology.

Examines a variety of financial statements for completeness and accuracy and conformity with fiscal policy, assisting in maintenance and reconciliation where needed.
Performs line by line trend analyses and financial forecasts of departmental and divisional budgets.
Prepares and assembles statistical data and reports for use in budgetary evaluation, maintaining downloaded data to coordinate necessary computer files.
Provides technical advice and assistance to departmental faculty and managers on adherence to budget and control procedures.
May be asked to produce and analyze sections of special projects or participate in additional departmental and administrative services as needed.
Will work with Research Budget Analyst to ensure accuracy and conformity with all research related financials, documentation, and other items as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, and/or related coursework
Experience: 2 years of related experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Credit history review may be required.

Preferred experience with UMB and/or FPI accounting systems, policies, procedures, etc.
