POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent in this position will perform advanced, technical skills as a Dental Assistant. The Dental Assistant will work alongside the physicians, hygienist and Clinical Nurse by providing skilled assistance during General Practice Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial procedures.
? The incumbent will assist for all types of dental procedures: Posses knowledge of all dental procedures performed in the Dental Clinic. Provides chair side assistance to the Dentists and Oral surgeons. Applies principle of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to provide optimum patient care during dental procedures. Sets up the procedure rooms with the necessary equipment/supplies and assists with preparing the patient for the procedure. Verifies with the physician of any specific equipment needed. Maintains par levels of the dental instruments, supplies and equipment for all dental procedures. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team for optimal patient care.
High School Diploma./GED.
Certificate from an accredited Dental Program.
Experience in a health care setting.
