The Medical and Health Sciences Foundation (MHSF) at the University of Pittsburgh is currently seeking a qualified Senior Development Associate.

MHSF was officially created as the fundraising entity responsible for the joint philanthropic ventures of UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences. The MHSF acts as the central resource for alumni, patients, and friends to contribute to any endeavor-academic, clinical, or research at either or both UPMC and Pitt.

This position will:
  • Offer high-level project support to the Director of the Medical Alumni Association and the Executive Director of Medical Development and Alumni Relations
  • Carry a portfolio of prospects and will provide evidence of developed and implemented fundraising strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of selected gifts
  • Be responsible for establishing impactful relationships with current and prospective donors
  • Complete a series of fundraising projects as assigned
Education Required Baccalaureate Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

At least two years direct fundraising/development or related experience preferred with a specific track record in alumni gift solicitation and/or event planning.

Required Licenses/Certifications Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Background Check For position finalists, employment with the University will require successful completion of a background check.
