Job Description

Research Technician
The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute is seeking a qualified candidate for the Research Technician position for the Women?s Cancer Research Center.

The incumbent must be able to maintain establishes cell lines, clones, and mouse colonies, to perform a variety of cell and molecular biology experiments, to handle mouse tumor models, as well as mouse and human xenograft tissue. Duties will include maintaining notebooks in an orderly fashion, prepping and presenting data to colleagues, and evaluating new methods, techniques, and assays as required. The scope of work will extend when necessary to the Zhang Lab and as other duties are assigned.

Education Required

Minimum Related Experience Level Required
2-3 years experience

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position
degree should be in biology, cancer biology or a related discipline

Required Licenses/Certifications

Child Protection Clearances
The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Background Check
For position finalists, employment with the University will require successful completion of a background check.
