Lab Technician/Phlebotomist

$30,732 - $49,296 a year

The Department of Health and Physical Activity at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Lab Technician/Phlebotomist.

The Lab Technician/Phlebotomist will perform phlebotomy duties and physical outcome assessments for participants in research studies for exercise and weight loss. The incumbent will also complete interviews on background health information. Responsibilities include data entry and supply inventory. The candidate should have phlebotomy experience and experience using a BP manometer, electrocardiography machine, and a scale and audiometer. The candidate should also have experience with faxing and photocopying as well as possess good organizational skills and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Education Required Associate Minimum Related Experience Level Required 1-2 years experience Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelors degree preferred. May substitute Associates degree with relevant experience in phlebotomy or a medical assistant certification.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Phlebotomy certification required. Medical Assistant preferred.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
