Posting Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Facilities and Space Planning in the School of Arts and Sciences ( SAS ), the Operations Assistant provides administrative, clerical and project support to the Office of Facilities and Space Planning. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and smooth operation for the Manager and the School of Arts and Sciences. The Operations Assistant will act as a liaison between the SAS Office of Facilities and Space Management and the 40+ plus departments in the School of Arts and Sciences.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant or related experience depending on the duties to be performed. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of previous experience with Facilities or Project coordination

Individual must possess the knowledge and the following skills and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the job:
? Great attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
? Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain a high level of customer service.
? Be able to work creatively, independently and collaboratively as a team member and be able to multi-task and prioritize projects.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills.
? Knowledge of University systems.
? Ability to operate stand office machines and equipment including computers, scanners, printers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
? Ability to work independently and travel to various locations throughout the 4 New Brunswick campuses.
? Required use of own vehicle.
? Knowledge or previous experience with Facilities or Project coordination is a plus.
? Ability to walk up and down stairs
? Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Special Conditions
Must have working knowledge of MS Excel and be willing to travel between campuses.
