The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is committed to excellence in education and the best practices of pedagogy. Duties include instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department has ABET accredited B.S. degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs.

Position Summary
The Electrical and Computer Engineering ( ECE ) Department at Portland State University seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This faculty member would be expected to work closely with other members of the ECE Department and Maseeh College on an interdisciplinary research focus on marine and freshwater resources. This involves sensing and monitoring in ocean, lake and riverine environments. Some of the research areas that would support this effort include autonomous systems, signal processing, controls, machine learning, underwater vehicles and acoustic sensing. An emphasis will be placed on the candidate?s research originality, future potential and ability to collaborate.

Applicants should have research agendas that are internationally recognized, regionally relevant and complement our existing research programs. Senior candidates, particularly at the Associate level, should also have a record of sponsored research. A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or related field, is required. Candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) will be considered, but must have completed their degree prior to the start date of employment.

Minimum Qualifications
? Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline; prior teaching experience at a college level or higher. ABD date to degree must be earned by 9/16/18.

? Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications
? BS, MS, & Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering.

? Experience initiating and completing externally sponsored research and scholarship.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
