Monitors the implementation of processes and procedures to assure all clinical students (DUGS and DGS) are compliant with all LSN clinical placement requirements; assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures for background checks, health clearances, and medical clearances. When needed, coordinates the gathering of agency specific documentation necessary for student placement into the clinical agencies. Reviews, edits, and files all LSN syllabi prior to the start of the semester; manages all book orders; manages and schedules proctors, Provides support and backup to ensure the smooth operations of LSN?s academic programs through the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), which includes the Department of Undergraduate Studies (DUGS), and the Department of Graduate Studies (DGS) at the PL and NY campuses. The person in this position will take direction from the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Nursing (EAD) and work collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Graduate Admissions, Sr. Program Coordinators, and other OAA staff members.
The person in this position will be cross-trained to support the functions of OAA staff associate positions, e.g. DUGS and DGS scheduling and workload; event planning and production, including but not limited to, student orientation, pre-commencement recognition and award ceremonies, graduation, and special events; and, DGS and DUGS simulation scheduling.


Position Duties
  • Manages all aspects of the clinical clearance process, this includes, monitoring and implementing of processes and procedures to assure all clinical students (DUGS and DGS) are compliant with all LSN clinical placement requirements.
  • Reviews and tracks student files for completeness and compliance with clinical agency requirements.
  • Continually corresponds with students to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Collaborates with appropriate office/person to resolve discrepancies and reports results to the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Nursing.
  • Coordinates the gathering of agency specific documentation necessary for student placement into the clinical agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinical agency management and staff.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures for background checks, health clearances, and medical clearances.
  • Manage and schedule proctors; manage Evolve testing, scheduling rooms and proctors
  • Exam administration preparation, tracking and securely maintain copies of exams; shredding of exams and other sensitive documents; maintain accurate and complete files on PL students, including purging of out dated files.
  • Serves as a resource person and provides assistance to PLV faculty and program directors
  • Assists Senior Program Coordinators, and other OAA staff, as needed.
  • Interacts positively with students providing information and troubleshooting problems
  • The position provides primary support across DUGS and DGS programs for; travel and expense processing; oversight of equipment and maintenance of equipment, and ordering supplies.
  • Assists in monitoring internal controls for personnel, fiscal planning, and project activities.
  • Coordinates or assists administration of a variety of non-recurring projects.
  • Obtain final course syllabi and course calendars; maintain course syllabi and course work files at the start of each semester; obtain process, submit and follow up on book orders, including requests for faculty desk copies.
  • Provide information to prospective students on LSN academic programs.
  • Advise students on how to negotiate LSN and university academic and student support systems.
  • Act as liaison for the National Nursing Student Association and other special student programs, among faculty, LSN and university offices and students at the PLV campus.
  • Assume additional or new responsibilities duties as requested.

Position Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree required.
Three years of experience related to compliance monitoring and/or experience in an administrative capacity in an academic setting.
Effective professional interpersonal skills including excellent verbal communication skills.
Organized, meticulous attention to detail, thorough, efficient, manages time well.
Can set priorities and meet expected deadlines.
Ability to work effectively within an ethnic, cultural, and socially diverse student population; Discretion required in terms of student privacy and clinical clearance. Proficient in computer applications, specifically, MS Office Suite; Experience with Blackboard and Banner is a plus. Ability to function independently and as a member of the OAA team is expected.


Work Hours

Monday ? Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., are the primary work hours, but hours may vary based on program needs/ activities. In addition, travel to the Pleasantville campus will be required as needed. This may be a minimum of 1 day per week.
