Peer tutors assist and coach other OHSU SON students in becoming a more successful and independent learner. Peer tutors provide and help to integrate effective learning and study strategies for their assigned students, while at the same time helping to clarify and/or reinforce course content, assignments, and material. Peer tutors should be available between 4-10 hours per week for tutoring sessions.

  • Salary Range: $12.00 per hour

Functions/Duties of Position






Provide individualized content and skill-development tutoring to assigned students (tutees). Individual student assignments may be requested by course faculty.

Create and maintain a tutoring schedule convenient to both tutor and tutee.



Job Requirements






Completion of at least one year of study at the OHSU SON.

A recorded B+ or higher in the course where tutoring is occurring.

Positive instructor referral/recommendation for course(s) being tutored.

Must maintain active enrollment at OHSU SON.

Possess the ability and willingness to work with individuals and groups of students from diverse cultural, economic, and academic backgrounds.

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information, materials, and discussions shared in the tutoring relationship.

Good academic and student conduct standing
