PRIMARY ROLE:
To report to the Chair of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and the Chair of Cellular and Integrative Physiology and indirectly to the Executive Associate Dean for Administration, Operations, and Finance, School of Medicine. Serve as a strategic administrative partner and a principle advisor to the Chairs and as the chief financial steward and leader of administrative support services for the department. Identify, mobilize, and optimize financial and other resources to help advance the mission of the department and the University, and ensure that the department?s faculty, students and staff receive high quality administrative support in a manner compliant with University policies and procedures. Direct, plan, and manage the comprehensive business affairs of the department, including management and analysis of Departmental budgets, auxiliary services, grant management, human resources, facilities management, and regulatory compliance. Manage annual operating budget.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Analyst and Advisor: Provide comprehensive financial information, analysis and advice to optimize use of the department?s financial resources.
  • Administrative Services Leader: Ensure efficient and effective completion of all administrative and financial services provided to the department. Influence achievement of the Department and Center?s missions and goals by working in close partnership with leadership.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to provide reasonable assurance of effective and appropriate resource use, accurate financial information, adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications

REQUIRED: Bachelor?s Degree in a related field, plus 2 years administrative experience and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative capacity.

Equivalent combination of education and experience at a 2:1 ratio

Preferred Qualifications

3 years of experience in business and financial field.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands Salary Range Up to $80,000/yr Salary Plan Salary Grade FLSA Work Location
