Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechaical Engineering
The College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, invites applications for a tenure-track position in our Mechanical Engineering Department. The position is anticipated to be available in Fall 2018 at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The department is particularly interested in interviewing candidates with design experience in rocket propulsion.

The College of Engineering (COE) faculty are housed in a modern academic complex, which is adjacent to robotics, mechatronics, propulsion and wind tunnel laboratories. The COE faculty also make extensive use of the Aerospace Experimentation and Fabrication laboratory complex. This building consists of a fabrication suite, space systems lab, structural dynamics lab, rapid prototyping lab, materials science lab, mechanical testing lab, structures lab, and dedicated faculty research labs. All of these labs feature state-of-the-art equipment for undergraduate student use. A new 52,000 square foot STEM building is also anticipated to be completed by Fall 2017, which will house new Robotics and Thermal-Energy Labs.

The successful candidate shall have a strong interest and ability to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories and to perform applied research. The ideal candidate will be willing to mentor and collaborate with students on research and student projects. Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communications skills, and a strong command of the English language are required.

An earned doctorate in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and related experience is desired, but candidates with significant industry experience and a Masters Degree are strongly encouraged to apply.
