(Purpose)

To produce, under the direction of the North Village Cafe kitchen staff, menu items of high quality for students, staff, faculty, and guests of the university.

Job Duties

(Essential Functions)

  • Assist in the production of menu items while observing health and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the Kittitas County Health Department
  • Prepare foods safely by using restaurant equipment properly. Equipment includes knives, ovens, fryers, grills, mixers, peelers, measuring cups, and can openers.
  • Stock, clean, provide excellent customer service, and set up and tear down work stations.
  • Interact with customers and coworkers in a professional manner

  • Must be punctual, courteous, reliable and responsible
  • Must keep an organized workspace
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Ability to read and understand weights and measurements
  • Must be eligible for student employment in the quarter in which you are working
  • Must be eligible for student employment in the quarter in which you are working.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast food or full service restaurant

Pay & Work Schedule

Pay: $11.50 per hour

Schedule/Hours: TBD

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a fast paced food preparation environment where there is typical stress associated with meeting service expectations and performing multiple tasks within established time standards. Worker must lift 50 pounds from shelf to cart and/or counter. Worker must stand for extended periods of time (2-8 hours). There is some exposure to hazardous equipment and products found in kitchen environments. Work will be performed around a variety of temperatures ranging from 0 degrees in a freezer to over 350 degrees around cooking equipment.

Benefits: You are eligible to accrue paid sick leave beginning January 1, 2018. This leave will accrue at one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours you work
